Present Korean Bride Tradition

In the past, traditional Korean ceremony festivities were much more intricate and involved a lot of time. The service is a special occasion where a couple pays regard to their parents and ancestors. They furthermore seek gifts for their future collectively. Today, however, current Korean marriages have been simplified so that visitors can continue their lives smoothly after the celebration. While still retaining the core of substantial festivals, present people have also added their personal touches.

In modern weddings, the bride and groom wear hanbok ( traditional Korean clothes ) instead of white dresses and suits or tuxedos. The bride usually wears a vividly patterned hanbok with much flowing garments and men wear a dark violet or crimson hanbok with loose jeans.

A key element of the meeting is a goose(kireogi) which represents fidelity and devotion. It is usually a life bean goose but today it is more usually a wooden one. The bird is passed around from host to visitor and bowed to. It is a metaphorical gesture as birds are known for their lengthy lifestyle and loyalty to their colleagues koreancupid.

Another significant moment is paebaek. This is a ceremony in which the bride and groom earn admiration to their families by offering them tea. They also offer jujubes and chestnuts which symbolize sons and daughters.
